Theo's 1978 Harley Davidson Sportster

Theo's 1978 Harley Davidson Sportster

My wife took this shot right before a show that the bike took a first place trophy at. I bought this 78' model as a basket case with the intention of doing a quick fix up and sell to move on to a newer bike. Something happened along the way. Every time I put a cleaned up old part on it I wasn't satisfied until it was near perfect. I slowly changed my way of thinking into making this old bike a keeper. It took 2-1/2 years of nights and weekends to put back together. I rebuilt, fabricated, and painted it myself. It's a 2 tone of white pearl and simulated granite. Its been stretched 4'' and dropped 4". Its probably 4" fatter too. The swing arm was replaced with a rigid weld in component. The motor has the usual trick stuff (cams, carb, 10:1CR, Spike ignition) and not stroked. Its still a stock 1000 bored 20 over. I liked the older look of the knuckles, pans, and I wanted to incorporate some of those styles.
